Adventurous, such a small word for annot8
We think it’s fair to say that the annot8 project is an adventurous one, with very big plans for the future.
When we originally asked annot8’s founder, Steve Weston, what the inspiration behind annot8 was, he modestly said “...to change the way people use the Internet forever.” And annot8 makes no bones about the fact that it really is a brand new way to do exactly that.
Developing from the ground up
Steve, the founder, is a very technically capable person with an appreciation for the technological side of our operation, this gave our techies the opportunity to really show off their skills, developing the whole system that connects & runs the annot8 plug-in - not to mention the bespoke e-commerce solution.

All of the above helps annot8 to get paid, but, also allows annot8 to pay various charities and of course their members, which is a great selling tool for the system - you surf, they pay you and your favourite charity - great concept!

Let us introduce you to Eddie!
annot8 understood that their concept - an advertising marketing system that makes money for its users, charities and gives businesses the opportunity to advertise directly on millions of web pages - really wasn’t the easiest to understand. To counter this, and to engage visitors to the site, we created Eddie.
Eddie was created (or born - according to the illustrator responsible for him) to deliver an emotive connection with the annot8 brand. Instead of using text and images to show what annot8 is and does - which, even after several initial explanations, we found a little confusing - we let Eddie (via several different animated mini stories) guide people through the site explaining what annot8 could do for its members.
