PPC some people love it, some people hate it and it certainly isn’t right for everyone or every market. We have found though, (unsurprisingly!) that most of the "haters" have had a go at it themselves and wasted a pile of cash, with little or no return, in the process.

Google isn’t silly, it makes adwords, their PPC interface public facing, because they make billions from people “having a go” but, this often gives people an expensive (bitter) first taste of the service. Dismiss PPC though and it could be your business’ biggest mistake, it’s powerful, efficient and delivers immediate results - many have found it to be the best marketing tool around; when handled by qualified professionals that is!

 

Social Media Marketing - Like!             

There are many effective ways to use social media marketing, but, if you think that means creating a business page on Facebook and then spamming all your friends with stuff they don’t care about then you're getting it at all wrong.

Social Media Marketing, when used intelligently, is incredibly cost effective and can spread your name far and wide. However, it doesn’t work for all brands. Many forget, or just plain ignore, the general rule: it’s all about being social! It’s about engaging, chatting and showcasing - not spamming. It’s about sharing concepts, giving things and ideas away for free. It’s about becoming a voice with something to say, but if you have nothing to say that’s OK too; that’s where Social Media Advertising comes in!

People give a lot of personal information away for free on social media sites - especially LinkedIn and Facebook - and this information can be used to directly target your online market.  From where they live and what they do for a living right down to if they have kids, their relationship status and much more besides. However, to really look through the cross hairs at all the juicy data, you need advertising agency status... something our sister agency (Ignition Search) has.

Although there are a lot of similarities between PPC and Social Media Advertising - not least banners - Social Media Advertising enjoys the best of both worlds. If people don’t click on your advert you can still get free brand exposure, and, if they do click then you have a specifically targeted, potential customer arriving at your site. Fantastically, if all has been delivered properly, it’s a fraction of the cost of your Google AdWords marketing spend too.
